Tropical flavors, fruits, and flowers

We meet at the Paloquemao Market, one of the biggest in the city.

We begin the tour by the flower area, where the traveler can see a huge variety of roses, orchids (Colombian national flower), sunflowers, margaritas, jasmines, etc. (It is the biggest flowers storage center in Colombia).

We continue through the garden plants and handicraft area where we can see very local stuff.

After that we go the fruits area, we go across food stalls that I know and their owners provide us with exotic and tropical fruits such as passion fruit, avocado, araza, anon, custard apple, borojo, rambutan, gooseberry.

Then we continue to the street food where we can have lechona (made of pork, peas and, rice), ajiaco (soup made with chicken breast, three kinds of potatoes, milk cream and vegetables), sobrebarriga (a cut of meat), pork loin, viudo de capaz (river fish), bocachico (river fish), mojarra (pond fish), caldo de costilla (a soap made of cow rib), etc.
